On May 30, 2018, Life Care Center of Stonegate in Parker, Colorado, took part in the town’s Senior Stroll.
The free event is designed to promote physical activity for older adults. It took place at a local park and included a one-mile walk, vendors, refreshments and prizes. More than 150 seniors showed up this year.
Life Care Center of Stonegate hosted a booth at the event where walkers could stop by and grab a hat – something that came in handy in the sunshine.
“As a local business in a town that thrives on ‘buy local,’ we have loved being a part of this event,” said Melanie Baker-Hood, area business development director. “We usually hand out some fun bag for the walkers to help keep their hands free. This year, we wanted to do something different that had an immediate impact and that they can use again and remember us.
“The feedback was wonderful,” Baker-Hood added. “Many participants had been to, rehabbed in, or knew someone at our facility.”
The facility has gotten involved with the event since the building opened in 2011.
